5. It's about damn time...
The old site was a joke. The SCDP had a local "FREE" web designer who volunteered to redo their antiquated site for free. He sought them out and volunteered his time because he's a good dem - wanted to volunteer for the cause. They (the SCDP) were interested ( since they had no money) and asked him to work on it and he spent A LOT OF TIME working on this site, only to be ignored (no returned phone calls, no feedback yada yada ...). It all of a sudden went off their radar (a supposed # 1 priority by the SCDP staff).

Their OBVIOUS lack of organization is what continues to plague this state. This site could have been up 9 months ago if the SCDP was better organized and used their volunteers more effectively and APPRECIATED their efforts. The SCDP here is a joke as far as I'm concerned. I'm glad the sight is now up, would have been great for the primaries tho' The SCDP needs to get their act together. It's no wonder we can't win a damn race down here....

6. Wow
You too? My husband volunteered years ago to update the site for free. He was part of the team that did Clinton first website and also later did the Dean Charleston website. He got no response.
I have volunteered to do "something" here in SC and I personally have not gotten a call from anyone. Sure everyone and their grandmother sends me mail asking for more money but not one damn phone call.

I think we need new blood in this whole organization.

7. I agree ... I thought the new blood was Joe Erwin...
Now I'm not so sure. Incredible you had the exact same experience with the fool web site. I wonder how many good Dems there are out there that have been turned off by the party's chaos, closed mindedness and lack of organization. I personally have had many Dem's contact me wanting to volunteer their service for the cause somewhere (they know that I am active in diverse Dem related causes). Honestly, these are very diversely talented people - IT, marketing, accounting folks, etc... that could personally bring a lot to the table in terms of talent and organization. They would work hard for FREE. But after my experience I won't dare steer them to the SCDP, not after what I've seen. Their talent would be wasted and unappreciated. Better to contribute to other organizations that welcome the help and appreciate the talent. There are many good causes out there. Until I see some positive change, the SCDP won't get any of my time OR money.

Too bad for us huh ? We REALLY need better leadership at the SCDP.

8. About the website
The problems all started because we had a VOLUNTEER webmaster to begin with. Someone who taught themselves HTML and did the site as a hobby.

For months, she absolutely refused to let go of the site. Wouldn't give the party the password or allow the crappy stuff to be taken down.

We have hired professional web designers at an extreme discount and the state party staff has the ability to update the site on a daily basis.

We even launched a blog.
