More Information On The Democracy For Tennessee Convention
United States Senator RUSS FEINGOLD, who is preparing for a run for
President in 2008, will be the keynote speaker at the first Democracy
for Tennessee Convention in Nashville on Saturday, July 9.

"I am committed to the effort of building the Democratic Party
throughout America and I look forward to the opportunity to speak at
the Democracy for Tennessee annual convention," Feingold said.

In 2004, Feingold was re-elected to his third term as United States
Senator from Wisconsin with an 11 point victory, receiving more votes
than any other candidate in the state's history. Feingold, known
best as the co-author of the McCain-Feingold campaign finance act and
for casting the sole vote against the Patriot Act, is one of the
strongest progressive voices in the U.S. Senate and is considered by
many to be, like John McCain, a "maverick".

He'll be making an exclusive appearance at the historic Belcourt
Theatre in Nashville to speak about the future of democracy in
America and the powerful new role of the progressive grassroots
movement in the Democratic Party. Senator Feingold will be
introduced by his old friend, Congressman Jim Cooper of Nashville.
Tickets for the Feingold event are $30 and can be bought at
www.dftconvention.com.

And earlier in the day, Democracy for Tennessee's Convention
– which will be held at the Watkins College of Art & Design –
will host an intense campaign training session that focuses on data
mining, message training, and a realistic door-to-door canvass
roleplaying exercise. The DFT Convention also offers a roster of
guest panelists and speakers. Jim Dean (Howard Dean's brother),
who serves as national Chairman of Democracy for America, will kick
off the day's events. A Candidates Forum will introduce some
local candidates that DFT is supporting in 2005 and then the new
Chairman of the Tennessee Democratic Party will introduce Rosalind
Kurita and Harold Ford Jr., who are running to replace Bill
Frist's Senate seat next year. Admission for the DFT Convention
is $25 and includes lunch.

All-Event Passes to both the Convention and the Feingold event are
still available for $50 and can be purchased at www.dftconvention.com.

Democracy for Tennessee is a state PAC and grassroots network that
spreads from Memphis to Knoxville and all points in between. DFT is
dedicated to advancing a progressive agenda through issue and
education campaigns, community service, and running good candidates
at all levels of public office in Tennessee. For more information

1. I do like Fiengold
Especially because he voted against the Patriot Act. :D That makes me one very happy camper with him. Is it just a normal convention or is it a learning type ordeal?
