Went to the Davidson Democratic Party (DDP) picnic.
I got there about 1 1/2 hours after it started and I guess about 50 people were there.
The first people I talked to were staffers of Kurita's. Nice, professional, young women. You will probably see them at any event honoring vets. You will see alot of support for the military from her. She is also pro-choice. Get this, she is a skeetshooter! How will that play with the hunters? I will be visiting the HQ later.
Also met the ED of the Veterans Advocacy Group, Inc. She is a lawyer helping disabled vets deal with the VA when there is a problem. They are currently looking for a corporate sponser to replace the one who dropped them BECAUSE she is a democrat! Anybody got an "in" at work so she can give a presentation?
I also got a new bumpersticker, "Wrong again." It's black and white and the "W" is boxed just like those uppity "W the president" stickers. Already getting honked at!
One last thing. I talked to the challenger for the County Clerk's office. One bit of advice, get a platform. He didn't have any answers for me and left the impression that he was a disgruntled employee.

1. Sounds like you had a good time and talked with interesting people
Where do you live in TN? I live about 30 miles north of Nashville in Cross Plains. I would enjoy going to some of these Democrat events but most of the time I don't have anyone to go with me and I really don't want to go by myself.

2. I'm in Davidson county.
I just had blueberries from Cross Plains last night! They were great.
It's understandable you would be uncomfortable going to an event alone but you would be among "friends" you have something in common with.
I am going to the Gore Family Dinner next. Because of the cost...and a girlfriend that doesn't care about politics, I will be going "stag".
If you go, let me know and I will look for you.

3. bigendian, the blueberries in Cross Plains are very good, especially on
cheese cake (one of my favorite deserts). I'm thinking about going to the Gore Family Dinner also. I'll let you know if I decide to go.

4. Sounds awesome of the Gore event!
I wish I could go to that! I really do like Kurita. I'm still torn though with who to vote for. On the one hand I really agree with her on everything on the home front. Only thing is I didn't like what she said about Iraq and the DSM on the Round table when she was on there. I'm not very fond of Ford but he is for an investigation if he made it to the Senate. So I'm going to probably listen to his interview. But I'm still a Kurita fan!
