Ramsey set to launch bid for governor in Franklin
Kingsport Times-News

Tennessee Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey will embark on his goal to be the state’s next governor with a campaign kickoff starting Sunday night and culminating at 12:01 a.m. Monday.

The event will be held in Franklin and not in his native Northeast Tennessee.

“It’s kind of a kickoff. It’s not the kickoff,” the Blountville Republican said of the Middle Tennessee campaign event while standing outside Kingsport’s First Presbyterian Church on Friday, where he attended a celebration of the 200,000th book delivery for the Sullivan County Imagination Library.

The Franklin event, said Ramsey, is not a fund-raiser, but it signifies the end of his exploratory effort although the legislature is still in session.

I wonder if a Democrat has any chance of winning? It looks like Tennessee is becoming redder and redder.

1. Hope who ever is the next governor of Tennessee will
do something about the filthy, nasty, misleading health care system. I've seen what is deemed, defended and supported as 'THE ACCEPTABLE STANDARDS OF HEALTH CARE' in East Tennessee; the state of Tennessee called it "horrifying" but perfectly acceptable in East Tennessee as high quality health care. http://www.wisecountyissues.com/?p=62

Those of you who live in East Tennessee and southwest Virginia beware of what is being sold by the health care system. Even the Tennessee Certificate of Need board said they are misleading and a danger to health care...

2. absolutely
God forbid that Ramsey get elected though. His nasty politics are so transparent. We need to send both him and Mumpower packing. These people around here (East Tn) and their ignorant rw politics are enough to drive one crazy. I do see more liberals around here now though. Yea!

3. Not a "kick off". Just a fund-raiser in the wealthiest county in the state.
Yes....Ramsey is transparent.....and scary.
May we find a suitable opponent to this cretin.
