The new format will debut on KRPT-FM in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday morning with syndicated talk show host Jerry Springer leading a line-up that will include Ed Schultz, Phil Hendrie, Alan Colmes and the Reverend Jesse Jackson.
The latest station "flip" features programing from Democracy Radio. Unlike Clear Channel's other conversions to progressive talk, this particular station will not be carrying programing from Air America, a liberal talk radio syndicator, the company said.
Radio industry sources said a rival AM station in San Antonio will be announcing an affiliation deal with Air America in the near-term. Air America was unavailable for comment. AAR may wind up on KZDC 1250AM.
