Chet Edwards Statement on Schiavo
***I totally disagree with the statements below. If he is not interested in upholding the constitution but rather saving lives, maybe he needs to be in some other profession.

"With this vote Congress was forced to play the role of a physician and lawyer in an individual medical case. While I have serious questions about the precedent of Congress intervening in a single case to overturn a state court decision, I voted for this bill so Terry Schiavo could continue to live while the federal courts review the facts of this case and while Congress reviews more carefully what federal policy should be on this type of case.

If Congress is to err on this case, it should err on the side of protecting Terry Schiavo's life while the incredibly complex and difficult legal, family and medical issues are considered by the federal courts."

2. What an IDIOT. Yahoos, all of them. Brains don't regenerate!
Can't these idiots read, don't they do any research, are they all stupid morons. Yes to all three. We are now officially, a third world country (and the other third worlders are none too happy about it!).

3. And, compare that to Bush's comments and other Republicans
I am listening to Malloy right now and it was eerie how similar Edward's statement channels Bush.

4. Better Chet Edwards than Arlene Wohlgemuth
Hurricane Arlene would have been demanding sainthood for Terri. At least we might be able to twist Chet's arm a little bit.

5. Even Repubs in my district didn't like Wolgmoose and weren't
going to vote for her. So Chet's office said they were bipartisan and going after the Republican vote, too.
My problem is that on constitutional issues he takes the Republican position.
