U.S. Rep. Ralph Hall, R-Texas, U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., and Sens. Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn, both R-Texas, met and then addressed local officials and residents at the TAC Air building at Texarkana Regional Airport.


"I'm going to do everything in my power to help you here," said Hutchison, adding that she and Cornyn "will use every tool at our disposal to save Red River and Lone Star."



"Closing either of these critical military installations would be a travesty," said Hutchison, who is the chairman of the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Subcommittee.

"We're going to look at the criteria (the Defense Department) used," she said.





It wouldn't surprise me one bit if they close these bases that you don't end up seeing this part of Texas turn blue.
Ahhhh but I can dream huh?

I believe that the Rupublican districts will be saved the the democratic ones will be closed. I also believe that the people in these area's are a lot smarter than Bush give them credit for and it will backfire on them in the democratic area's.
