2. At least not for 2 years!
Or until you've figured out a fair plan to address school finance. Bwahahaha!

4. another year
another failure at reforming school financing. What is this the third or fourth time in a row? Did the special session to "fix school financing"(read redistrict) count?

6. No true Texan can sleep soundly while Texas Legis in Session
One of my high school civics teacher's favorite sayings was that no true Texan can sleep soundly in their bed while the Texas legislature is in session. That saying is more true now than it was 30 years ago

8. Thank goodness..no more embarrassing headlines..
well..Ok, Texas will always lead the nation in embarrassing headlines but it just really sucks when they are made by our so-called lawmakers.
And speaking of such headlines..did anyone notice how it was splashed all over that TX was trying to prevent gay and lesbian families from being foster families yet the announcement that the TX Senate wouldn't put it in the final bill was buried in an article on the Net...as a one sentence blurb. Did the TX repuke Senate not want it announced that they rejected it so they could keep their base from finding out??

9. Sine Die! Die, Die, Die!
Adjournment sine die (from the Latin, "without day") occurs when an organized body's existence terminates. It is often used with regard to legislative bodies whose terms or mandates are coming to an end, as in "The 79th Legislature of the State of Texas closed this session by adjourning sine die."
(from wikipedia site)
----

I agree that I am glad that the meanest season of the Texas Legislature is over, for now. The idea of a special session is not dead, but let's not stir the beast yet.

And the thrills are not over kids, we still have to wait for the Ricky "good hair" Perry's petulant veto period. Let's not forget Perry's first session after he inherited the job from bu$h. He killed everything that had a soul. He's still the heartless bastard he was then.

10. Molly Ivins always talks about the Owner's Box
which seems to happen every time they are in session. To get an idea of a national direction now, you have to watch Texas. At least until the worm eventually turns.
