Edwards to address state convention

Austin, TX// The Texas Democratic Party announced that former Presidential Candidate and potential Vice Presidential candidate Senator John Edwards (D- NC) will address the State Democratic Convention on June 18, 2004 in Houston.

"It is an honor to have Senator Edwards at our Convention,” said Texas Democratic Party Chairman Charles Soechting. “Texans are enthusiastic about Edwards because he is a Southerner who embodies the American Dream. His personal story and compelling vision of a united country have resonated from one corner of the state to the other."

After Senator Edwards withdrew from the Presidential election he created the One America Committee. The One America Committee is dedicated to helping elect Democratic candidates and ensuring that John Kerry is elected President of the United States.

“This year’s convention promises to be the most exciting state convention in years,” said Soechting. “Democrats are on the move and fighting for Texas’ “Missing Middle” everyday.”

I think that Edwards is a great candidate and would be a great VP.

I'm there. He will fire-up the crowd like Ann Richards used to do! (and still does!)
