My LTTE to the SA paper

on the bombings in London. Wish me luck folks.

In all the media reports counting the casualties in the London bombings, one has yet to be reported: the death of the "We must fight them there so we don't have to fight them here" rationale for invading a country that had absolutely nothing to do with terrorism.

If the US and Great Britain had kept focus on Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan instead of cooking up lies to invade Iraq for its oil, it is quite possible that the criminals responsible for Thursday's tragedy would either be dead or behind bars, and the 50 or more people who died would be at home safe with their families.

What if?

Can you imagine what the United States could have done with the $300 Billion we have spent fighting the unnecessary war in Iraq?

$300 Billion could have been used to fund covert operations to break up Al Qaeda before they could strike again and maybe the London bombings could have been prevented.

$300 Billion. Are we really any safer?

7. I saw yours in the DMN last night

I was sitting with my mom, and I said "Oh, I know the guy who wrote this one." :)

I thought that the DMN had some good letters yesterday, meaning that the good ones were way better than the crappy ones.

Good luck on getting published dg! My local rag never publishes my letters either. They hate me for my free speech thinking. I wrote to them just last week on e-voting issues. Zip, nada, zilch.
