Houston DUers...
Edited on Mon Jun-14-04 07:53 PM by slutticus
Hello everyone! I was wondering if there were any plans for the Houston DUers to get together to watch Fahrenheit 9/11?

It opens on the 25th (as if you didn't know), but i'm thinking the tickets should be bought in advance in case of a sellout.

What do you guys think? Movie then drinks? Drinks then movie? Or drinks, movie, then some more drinkin'?

Here is the list of Houston theaters that will be playing it....

AMC Gulf Pointe 30

AMC Studio 30

Cinemark Tinseltown Westchase 24

Landmark River Oaks 3

1. Sounds good
but I can't do it the 25th, since it's the West Houston Democrats monthly potluck party.

If it's another time during the weekend and the choice is Cinemark Tinsletown, my house is available for a before and/or after get-together.

Cinemark Tinsletown Westchase is at Beltway 8 & Richmond and I'm at Beltway 8 and Westheimer.

5. That one works for me, too
except the night of the 4th. I have a big thing for fireworks and Bill White has promised this year will be spectacular. Hmmm, maybe an early welcome home for Dubya??

8. Dang it, I can't go then. And I'll be in Austin for July 4th.
Y'all have fun now! I'll see it when I'm in Austin. I plan to treat my daughter and son-in-law to the movie and dinner at Kirby Lane.

9. OK...so...
...I guess we can try to meet the weekend after it opens. I'm assuming everyone who can will want to see it opening night (i know i do), so if people don't have a problem seeing it more than once, maybe we can organize for a group viewing on July 4th weekend (but not on July 4th). It's still to early to make definite plans though.....we can just wait and see.

15. I'm hoping it's the one on Wesleyan near Richmond
since that's the one closest to our house ;)

slut, we're still in for a group that wants to go sometime on the 4th of July weekend. Calendar's beginning to fill, though; would anyone like to go Monday afternoon the 5th (maybe lunch or brunch and then to the movies)?

22. OK.
So. We have a plan (sort of) for the 5th of july. I will also be going on Friday, but I think the tickets should be bought today; so who can go on friday the 25th? Lisa?

How about the Edwards Marq'E. That seems to be centrally located. Time preferences?

24. MONDAY is the 5th
and that's when we want to go, as we have a party to attend Sunday the Fourth.

So who's on?

I say we meet at Jillian's or Cafe Adobe for lunch or brunch at 11 and then go to the 1:20 show at the MarqE...think we should buy tickets in advance?
