PEACE DEMONSTRATION TOMORROW, Sat., Sept. 24, in DALLAS, TX
There will be an outdoor, pro-peace demonstration in Dallas
tomorrow, on Saturday, September 24, beginning at 5:00 pm, in the plaza
in front of Dallas City Hall, on Young Street near Akard (provided it's
not raining or too windy to hold signs up).

(The demonstration will begin immediately following a
free pro-peace concert/rally being held INSIDE the Dallas Convention
Center Bruton Theatre located at the corner of Akard and Canton; for
more information about the concert, call 214-823-7793.)

PLEASE JOIN US AT 5 PM IN FRONT OF CITY HALL. IF YOU CAN, BRING A SIGN OR A NOISEMAKER (acoustic only, please)

See you there!

7. Post-protest wrapup
Yours truly accidentally left the camera at home, so I don't have any pics this time. I met snot out there (Hiya!), who generously supplied me with a Honk If You Love Cindy sign to carry around.

When I got there at 5pm, there were at most 10 folks protesting, but the number steadily grew to 25 before I had to leave. Folks from the Dallas Peace Center and North Texans for Justice and Peace lent thier support. Even some passing motorists stopped to help out with the protest for a while.

And yes, it was windy! Almost ripped the signs out of the hands of some protesters. But we stayed dry, and someone brought a jambox with Talking Heads playing on it, so that helped keep out spirits up.

We did get a reporter from the Dallas Morning News out to the protest site to interview some folks. All the photographers are covering hurricane territory, but it's nice that this reporter was able to talk to some of us. There's a brief mention of the Dallas protest on page 6A of the DMN if you're interested.

Great to see snot and everyone else there yesterday!
