Anyone familar with Austin-Bergstrom Airport?
I've never been inside before, just dropped off and picked up. I have to drop a friend off tomorrow and thought I'd take my boys in to have lunch and watch the planes take-off and land. Any recommendations for a good spot?

Thanks.

1. I think the food areas and large windows are in a secure area.
I'm not sure you can get back there without being a ticketed passenger.

Maybe they have some public areas I'm not familiar with though. I guess you could call them.

Question: Can I meet my arriving passenger at the gate?
Answer: Only ticketed passengers are permitted through the security checkpoints. Meeters/greeters can meet arriving passengers in the baggage claim area.

The baggage claim area is pretty boring. No windows except for the doors from the street level entrance. I guess you would have to stay out in the parking lot area to watch the planes land and take off.

I don't think you can even have lunch there either, since the food court area is behind the security checkpoints on the 2nd floor.

3. Call the airport
They may have a place where they take students on field trips.
