Bush gets cold reception at ROTC event in Houston

I attended a very well planned Veterans Day event at my sons Jr High ROTC (LDC Leadership Development Corps) yesterday.

I thought they did a fantastic job, but the main speaker made a comment about Bush that I found to be strange. She was mentioning 4 specific veterans and started with the Commander in Chief, President Bush who flew with the 145th Air National Guard at Ellington Field, just a few miles from the school.

She paused for applause.

And there was none. Right smack in Bush's home. Nothing. Not a word, a clap, or anything. Dead silence.

A year ago there would have been hoopin and hollerin.


(That is my son David in the middle. Bushy hair and all. He wears a NO WAR button when not in uniform.)

My wife says he's going to have a hard time finding applause at some of his usual haunts. People are finally seeing that the emperor is standing there buck naked.

Great kid John! I'm sure he's smart since he's figured out that "bush bin lying".
