Protest of DeLay, Cheney, Cornyn on Dec 5th in Houston
Who is up for a protest of the gang of three?

I bet you this event is going to be in the middle of the day to avoid large protest crowds that can be formed in the evening.

Anti-War, Anti-DeLay, and Anti-torture theme.

3. You hit the trifecta!
The three asses of evil. Three of the top 10 U.S. professional government liars!

Cheney the torture denier
DeLay the truth torturer
Cornyn a torture enabler

Go get'em Houston!

If you can contact the Bush Billionaires, they should get a piece of this. This is all about corrupt money, to cover crimes of corruption.
These three are involved in a conspiracy against the American people.
They all belong in jail.

Good luck to you John!

Sonia

7. I just got back....
it must not have lasted long because I drove past the Westin
parked in an almost empty parking garage at Nordstroms.

Who did you hear it from? and where are the hundreds of people that should have been there?

8. We broke at 7
There were 287 very loud protestors, signs, bullhorns, both sides of the street on Westheimer. About fifty of us went to dinner at Dave and Buster's afterwards.

I believe it began at 5ish (the schedule called called for a 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. mobilization).

I met David Murff (running in CD-07 agaisnt Culberson) and Ted Ankrum (running in the 1oth against McCaul).

It was one of the best protests we have had yet.

9. Can't wait for the pictures
Yeah for Murff and Ankrum. I marched with Ted Ankrum at the Veteran's Day Parade in Austin, a damn fine candidate.

Thank you Houston Democrats and all progressives for all you do!!

I hope he wins...that is our district.
Sorry I missed it. Guess I was working the wrong
side of the street. :dunce:

11. re: It was one of the best protests we have had yet.
It was equal in size to the protest at the
Counter-Inauguration day in 2000 at Mikey Leland Fed. bldg
(near 400)

http://www.hal-pc.org/~edi/j20photos.html

and we were mostly from Houston. The good news for me is that it doesn't sound
as if that many people are interested in giving big bucks to Delay.

I believe I saw Cheney or Delay leaving from my view on
Hidalgo street at about 6:30...can't be sure though.

Good job!

The Houston Chronicle Story

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/politics/3505047.html
VP gives DeLay a boost at fundraiser
Both supporters and protesters turn out for event

(snip)
Houston police estimated the crowd at 250.

"Instead of working in Washington to get our troops out of Iraq, Vice President Cheney is working in Houston to get Tom DeLay out of jail. This is shameful," said John Cobarruvias of the Bay Area New Democrats. "While the vice president is raising money for the morally and ethically bankrupt Congressman DeLay, our soldiers are fighting in an endless war in Iraq. It is clear their ethics and values do not reflect the vast majority of Americans."
(/snip)

Very telling that neither Cornyn nor Hutchison showed up. They stayed for the DC Christmas dinner instead.

14. You had costume changes
WestHoustonDem, I saw the prison stripes picture of you on the GD thread and on John's blog, and now you have a different costume. You were really prepared! I like both signs. The "Crooks for DeLay" and this one.

Someone brought 50 Abu-Grahib costumes and the pinstripes were on load from our own JohnCoby.
