1. Born and raised in SA

I live in Austin now.

But I grew up on the NW side, in Colonies North subdivision right over by Wurzbach and IH10.

I went to Clark HS, graduated in 86. I remember when everything west of Wurzbach was cattle pasture. :)

My favorite San Antonio thing is probably the Mercado. I used to hit a club/diner on South Alamo all the time called The Beauregard, but it's not there anymore.

2. I remember that too...
When I started UTSA in '89 you had to drive all the way up to Wurzbach to get anything to eat.

8. I LOVED Bouffant...
Huge fan!! Went and saw them every chance I got. I caught their last Austin show at Liberty Lunch.

I've been trying to find someone to convert my Bouffant Tapes on to CD. I also dug: Ten Hands, Retarded Elf, Bad Mutha Goose, and Twang Twang Shocka Boom.

9. Hee hee! Blast From the Past!
I used to hang out with a lot of the folks from Cannibal Club and that scene. The guys from The Wannabes, Last Straw, Janis 18.

A couple of the guys from Goodfoot (Dallas/Denton) used to live in Bruce Hall when I was up at UNT. My friend used to date one of the guys in Three on a Hill, so when they played SXSW I'd go see them, Course of Empire, and Killbilly.

Ah...those were the days. If you find somebody to convert your tapes, let me know. I think I still have mine somewhere.

13. Hi elfwitch (raising hand)
Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 07:56 PM by SilasSoule

My family moved to S.A. from the Rio Grande Valley when I was 5 yrs old. And lived just outside Kelly A.F.B. as I was growing up. I Graduated from J.F. Kennedy H.S. in 1977.

Sagan, the Beuregaurd was a happening place back when San Antonio used to have a lively Live music scene 10-12 years ago along with
Los Padrinos. I remember Bouffant Jellyfish They were a pretty cool band.

I'm working NIOSA Friday night.

11. I live in San Antonio
But I didn't grow up here, so I guess I don't count as a native.

I'm looking forward to hearing from the true natives.

I grew up on the south side. I went to Highlands and graduated in 1966.Many wonderful nights spent at Alamo Stadium watching football games. Favorite San Antonio only things are Fiesta and the Spurs. My son is an 8th grader now at Hobby Middle School and will go to Clark next year.

Let's see... She was born in 1951. So she would have been class of '69. All her sisters went there too.

19. I'm Not An SA Native But I Could Be
I've lived in SA off and on for 20 years. I have to leave every now and then thanks to job requirements but I always make my way back. I didn't do HS there but I got a degree from Incarnate Word "College" back in 90. The one SA thing I miss (since I am in exile again for a few years) is Church's Chicken. Best damn chicken around. Artery clogging good!

The Dinners are still around. They are currently "Los #3 Dinners".

They have a song and CD Titled "Quiero un Camaro". They used a buddy of mine's 1969 Camaro on the cover.

Clicking on the bands logo below takes you to their website and they gave a gigs link that lists where they play. I check them out every couple of months so if you make it to on of their gigs, P.M. me and we can hook up (I'll buy you a drink).

Trivia question for San Antonio Natives. Anyone know where their slogan "Dedicated to the use of a free and happy people" is derived from?
