Elliot Naishtat - a Texas House member who broke the redistricting quorum (did I get the name right?)

1. You spelled it perfectly!
This fillibuster happened like two miles from my house, so I am so disgusted that I couldn't participate. With my back injury I am literally laid up, thank the FSM for wireless routers & portable computers! I was prepared to take lots of vicodans and be carried down there but the opportunity didn't arise.

To add insult to injury I received a letter form Ken Mehlman & the GOP, if it isn't a letter bomb it must be a plea for money. Should I mail them a brick back?

3. If there's a postpaid envelope inside
go the hardware store and get some lead or heavy metal hardward that and stuff the sucker with. That way they will be charged with the postage.

4. sorry you couldn't make it, acmejack
I know you would have been there if you could.

Maybe you should send Ken Mehlman some statistics on how poorly the country is being managed, or maybe send him the bush king's latest poll numbers. ha ha

7. Do what my friend did
Everytime the Republicans sent her stuff, she wrote a check to the Democratic Party, made a copy of it & sent a letter back to the Rs saying "If I get another one of these, I'll send another check to the Dems." Took them a while, but they finally got the point (and the Dems got some $ from it too).

2. Thanks for the pics WestHoustonDem
Elliott Naishtat is my Representative (HD49) Two Ls and two Ts in his first name. Hell of a Rep! He came out on Friday and Saturday! He's a big defender of the CHIP program. Get to know my Rep:

Our webmistress Sherry (Snarko) Monarko is great woman. I love her. What energy and spunk.

Great picture of the whole family there too, WHD. Thank you for coming to the filibuster. It was great seeing you.

9. sonia, Velma, WHD, NoPasaran, Magic Muffin were all there
Seems like I'm leaving somebody out.

Larry Stallings stayed through the entire Filibuster; his wife liveblogged it.

Democratic officials and candidates who appeared at the Filibuster included Rep. Naishtat, Stallings, Texas Railroad Commission candidate Dale Henry, CD-21 candidate John Courage, TX-20 candidate Jim Stauber, Texas Senate District 25 candidate Kathi Thomas, Michigan state Senator Buzz Thomas, former Court of Appeals candidate Winston Cochran, and many others.

Jack Blood of Austin radio fame made a midnight appearance with about twenty of his posse and livened things up nicely.

Thanks also to Karl-Thomas Musselman of BOR and Tim McCann of the Chris Bell campaign for coming out.

10. I loved the Stalling family
What a nice family. Billy, his son, was wonderful. I want more young Democrats like this nice young man. Committed, educated and intelligent. And he's already got some other young people to be passionate about politics. His first vote he can cast this fall, will be for his father. Never underestimate the power of a committed family. Karl-T can tell you that. He was his father's campaign manager and helped get him elected to city council from his hometown. Billy is even younger than Karl-T was but it's never to early to start working for Democracy.

Go young Democrats, Go!!
