Reception of Dallas Air America?
Hi. I'll be travelling to Dallas next week and am debating whether I should bring my xm radio along. I was wondering if anyone in the area could tell me if the reception is ok for the Air America station I see listed on the affiliate list? I'd just as soon not take the antenna out of the car if I don't have to and can get it locally.

1. it's ok, but they time-shift Randi, so you won't get her live.
also, the metroplex is a BIG place and I hear reception is not so great in places, so it depends on where you will be.

2. I think it depends on where you are.
I get great reception up in Plano, north of Dallas.

4. The signal goes weak at night
And I lose it when I park in my parking garage at work (and it's not an underground one, either). And it can get drowned out by static when you drive by certain spots. So I'd bring your XM along, just in case. :)

5. where i'll be
Thanks. Well part of the Time I'll be in Allen, Texas, and then the rest in Grapevine - and travelling in between the two. It sounds like if you get it good in plano, I might be ok, from looking at the map.

It's not vitally important that I get it all the time, but if I can get it some, it would be nice - and would save me the trouble of unhooking it from the car. If anything I may just plan to use it indoors with my inside antenna in the hotel room.

6. I gladly quit my job last week..Couldn't listen to 8 hrs of Fox News

Welcome to the neighborhood, and here's a story about the locals..You may want to keep that Sat Radio tuned to Air America for you sanity..
------------
My boss has the tv on fox all day..He is on his laptop every chance he gets (Freepland no doubt)..gets so worked up then sticks his head out of the office to rant about the Democrats..Tells what Rush just said about bad dems..non patriotic..blabbering the usual lies of Rush Limpjab.
I am the only one there out of four of us..(small shop) that has a clue what our gov't has done to our Nation & the world..they all STILL believe Sadam caused 9-11. I couldn't live in that world a day longer..so I simply stepped out the door and drove away..My hours were recently cut a lot, anyway..apparantly they made $30,000.00 last year but their accountant told then recently that they've over spent a bit more than they made..
Labor costs were to blame..Couldn't be the high costs of operating a small business..under Bushco..everyone gets screwed, unless you've got a million $$ bank acct. Which they don't.
But you think they will blame it on Bush? NO..they still say its all Clinton's fault..
Typical stupid head-up-their-butts Bushkins..
I know there is a job out there somewhere in Dallas/Ft Worth that isn't 24-7 Faux News..What a bunch of confused freaks!

Whew..thanks for the rant space..
Any Ft Worth meet ups! I think I need de-programming!

Oh ya, and a decent job.
Blaze

---SO my point is: if you're traveling near Grapevine/Hurst, and need to purchase flowers..I can tell you where NOT to go, unless you feel like waking in there and laying on some great rant about pissy psnts Bush..just for the sport of watching all their heads explode!!

Thanks

10. Craigslist
Is a free bulletin board for people to use to post jobs, items for sell, etc. and is nationwide with specialty sites for most major areas. Think of it as a much better version of the classified ads. For the most part it is generally a lot more hip (and thus liberal) than anything you're likely to find in the paper or other sites. The favicon is a peace sign if that helps.

The one you want is:

Congratulations? My apologies?

I can't imagine having to endure 8 hrs. of the crap from FOX-HOS. Or for that matter having to deal with a boss who listens to Rush Limpballs.

You have my sympathy.

11. Blaze Dem, if you're in the floral industry...
...there's gotta be a gay-owned flower shop with an anti-Bush owner. Okay, maybe I'm stereotyping, but I know there was one on Cedar Springs in Dallas...

12. you'd think so! We had a gay man from another shop
do some work for us in December, he was a god friend of theirs. Some of our friends in this business were gay, but it didn't seem to matter to my boss.
It was kind of like Catholics ignoring the church's rule on birth control, yet still attending mass each sunday right after swallowing the little pill.
Apparently they can adore gay people but ignore the fact when professing their hatred for anything that isn't Bush.

Too wierd for me!

Thanks for the info everyone! Salvation of my sanity has to come first...lol
