Your Daily DeLay: Former Majority Leader, Current Defender of the Faith
From http://chron.com/disp/story.mpl/headline/nation/3754187.html:

Earlier, the former House majority leader told activists he agreed with their premise that there is a "war on Christianity.

"Our faith has always been in direct conflict with the values of the world," DeLay said. "We are, after all, a society that provides abortion on demand, has killed millions of innocent children, degrades the institution of marriage, and all but treats Christianity like some second-rate superstition."

DeLay was forced to abandon his job as majority leader while facing indictment on charges that he improperly funneled corporate donations to Republican candidates for the House and amid questions about his ties to disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Here's how I would rewrite his statement:

"My faith has always been in direct conflict with the values of Tom DeLay. He is after all, a man who has taken illegal campaign contributions, lied to the American public, embarrassed his constituents, degraded the office of congressman of the United States of America and all but treated Christianity like some political tool."

There. That makes me feel better.

1. Isn't it past your bedtime?
You'll never get to sleep by staying mad at La Cucaracha Grande...

3. It's hard to sleep at night
when you are governed by someone such as Tom DeLay. Especially when his residence is within miles from yours.

I have children in my home to protect!

I sleep better when I've taken some sort of action. Especially in an election year! Hopefully this is the last year for this nonsense and after Nov. 7th, I will have sweet dreams!

2. I like your rewrite Muse
Here's my stab at it

"The world's values are in direct conflict with those of Tom DeLay. The majority of world's peoples are striving for peace, and equality of all humanity, while Tom DeLay only values rich republican Americans. Tom DeLay believes that America's use of 75% of the world's energy is justified because he mangles his interpretation of the bible to justify it. Tom DeLay thinks the U.S. should use military force anywhere in the world, to protect US corporate interests. The majority of the world disagrees. Tom DeLay believes that God talks to the bush king. The world knows better. Tom DeLay says he's against abortion, but he has no problem forcing it on enslaved women in the Mariana Islands. Tom DeLay thinks he's a moral Christian. The world thinks Tom DeLay is a hypocrite, who uses religion as a marketing tool to enrich himself. "

The war you see Tom DeLay is not on Christianity, but on political con artists such as yourself. I am at war with you and your ilk.

On a related note, I saw a wonderful bumper sticker in Austin this weekend.

"I support separation of church and hate." Me too!

Sonia
