Now that I've thought it over, I'm not that happy about DeLay.

Ya'll, we were GONNA kick his ass in the fall, and he knew it, and that's why he quit-- to keep the seat from going to the Democrats.

Anyone know if Lampson's going to run in the special election? I'm not that fond of the special election-- a shorter time period tends to favor the candidate with more $$$ --- JMHO.

He's been working the district for over a year now. So he's got name recognition. He's been a Congressman before, so he has the experience. He has a good amount of money in the bank, although he'll need more from us. He's in the best position to win a special election in June or July whenever the Governor sets it. What we need to do in the meantime is collect more dirt on Mayor Wallace. He had to have supported DeLay publicly. We need to tie Wallace to DeLay.

I would have loved to seen Lampson kick DeLay's ass at the polls too. DeLay knew he was gonna get his ass kicked too, so he cut and ran.

I still believe that DeLay is going to get criminally convicted for something. He's getting his much deserved payback.

And, yes, the Bugman behind bars, instead of turning into a rich K street lobbyist, would be the BEST result of all.

the district over near Clear Lake? I would have thought Eckles has more name recognition in the greater Houston area with your average voter, which makes me think Wallace has got to have ties to Delay. If they have a special election now, will they have to run for the same seat again in November? Is that the strategy? Make Lampson use up all his funds?

As Texas Democrats, we need to be able to be happy for at least twenty-four hours before switching back to gloom'n'doom mode!

I wanted to see DeLay get beaten. I mean beaten so badly that even PETA and the baby seals felt sorry for him! This is s semi-sweet victory.
