Fort Bend Democratic HQ Grand Opening Saturday
Just got this in an email from Juanital herself at http://www.brazosriver.com/. I can't go but I hope there are some DUers that can. Please tell Susan a.k.a. Juanita I sent you!

Fort Bend Democrats is having their Headquarters grand opening this Saturday from 3-5 p.m. -- free hot dogs and apple pie. Nick Lampson, Chris Bell, and BAR will be there. Chris and I will be autographing old Dump DeLay memorabilia we had on hand and are now giving away. Please invite anyone you know. And bring the kids -- we love kids!

5. Tom DeLay's thugs
Remember it was DeLay who sent paid thugs to Florida to stop the recount in 2000. Looks like his crew is up to no good once again. Please tell me this makes the MSM in Houston. They have to be exposed for the criminals that they are.

6. At lunchtime they showed the counter protest, but no mention
of the injury. I missed the 5pm news. Juanita was thrilled it did make the TPM. Not one mention of the assault on the local news web sites. They just suck.

She's getting over 100 an hour from all over the country. She's thrilled to have made Talking Points Memo too and loves DU.

Lampson event disrupted by DeLay supporters

SUGAR LAND — U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay's campaign staff invited supporters to disrupt a news conference today by the Democrat vying for his seat, turning it into a shouting, finger-pointing shoving match.

The disruption by more than two dozen DeLay supporters drowned out Nick Lampson's message. Delay's staff indicated such displays would continue through the November election.

"Let's give Lampson a parting shot that wrecks his press conference," read a mass e-mail to supporters by DeLay campaign manager Chris Homan.

I'm taking my first breather all day. I don't post here much because the little ole website is about all I can handle. I just appreciate all of your support and wanted to say so.

If you come to the Headquarters opening on Saturday, ask anybody in a Fort Bend Democrats demin shirt where I am. I will gladly give you a DUMP DELAY button free of charge.

11. Rats!
I forgot the most important thing. I just talked to Marsha (the 70 year old retired CPS caseworker who got whacked in the face by a DeLay supporter --- do these people have some hang-up about hitting faces?). Other than a little soreness, she's doing okay. I'll try to keep y'all updated on her. She will be there Saturday, too, and you can shake her hand.

I hope others from DU will come and join us! It will be fun. PM me if you need directions.

Once you find our Fort Bend headquarters, don't be a stranger! We block walk out of there every Sunday. Training at 2 pm and blockwalking at 3 pm, including this Sunday!

Lampson's Fort Bend field manager is terrific. You'll want to meet him, talk to Nick, Chris Bell, Barbara Radnofsky and others!

Even former voters for DeLay are sick of him and just want him and any reminder of him to go away. If those hecklers keep showing up, it'll drive more voters Lampson's way. They're like the last spasms of a dying cockroach after its head's been cut off.

14. It hit the Chronicle website as soon as it happened
I saw it there at work today. I had a headsup that the press conference was going to happen this morning, so I casually went to the Chronicle website hoping for some news coverage. When I saw all of the commotion, I couldn't believe it.

YUK!! Those DeLay supporters need to give up, roll over and play dead. Or, just die. Even better.

Honest to God, if any of those DeLay people ever do that to me at a Lampson event, there is going to be a lot more trouble than what you saw here.

Nick will win in November. I know he will. Look at how calm and collected he appears in all those photos. That's class. You know if bugboy was surrounded by liberal democrats he'd go bat-shit crazy. I picture his head exploding ala "Scanner".

You don't want to miss this. We want to show our support for Nick Lampson and show everyone, everywhere how serious we are about taking TX-22! Lots of people will be watching this after what happened on Thursday at Lampson's press conference, so come out if at all possible!
