Just got a call from a "research firm" wanting to know who I

plan to vote for for State Party chair. I told them I'm undecided. They asked if I was planning to attend the convention. I said yes.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Someone is well funded. This was not a random call. They asked for me by my legal name.

4. Amazing....the phone just rang!!!

Jim answered and he told them "none of your business". That was followed with the question, "Are you voting for Glen Maxey?" He told them his answer hasn't changed. They didn't ask if he was going to the convention. LOL

After talking with the mean old man, I wonder if they scratched our phone number, or if I'll get a call, too, since both of us are delegates. That is if they haven't flagged Jim, credentials, even as I type.

7. Glen is running an aggressive campaign

Last night at Cafe Express (following the ROADWomen appearance) he strategized with about twenty of his supporters. He's going to be at our HDEC meeting tomorrow night as well. He's giving everybody in Houston a lot of schmoozing.

I am, candidly, on the fence with regard to whom I will support for the chairmanship, and I probably won't make up my mind until I get to the convention, but Glen is certainly leaving nothing on the table in this campaign.

And good on him for that.

There has not been a true race for party chair since the '70s, and if he builds momentum going into the convention in three weeks... well, things could be lively.

12. Phone call came last night.

Haven't checked the mail this week.

I'm pretty confident this is Glen's operation doing the work.

Should be interesting tonight at the HDEC swearing-in ceremony with Maxey and his supporters and pins and flyers, and Chris Bell in attendance (who as we know endorsed Boyd R. for chair).
