How many activist are for Maxey?
Ive noticed that Boyd had really accentuated his many endorsements. But I don't see the "activists" on the list. So how many activists are supporting Maxey?

I consider myself an activist, so I think I am in Maxey's camp.

1. I am!
And it looks like there are a lot of us.

Glen Maxey Leads LSI Poll of Delegates!
Last week, you may have been contacted by a research firm hired by the Glen Maxey Campaign to conduct a phone survey of delegates. Among delegates that have made up their mind, Glen Maxey is firmly in the lead. However, the majority of delegates remain undecided. Both Maxey and Richie begin the race with a sizable base. Glen Maxey's base is larger, and he leads in all urban areas and most rural parts of Texas.

LSI Phone Survey N=1168
Maxey 24.9%
Richie 13.4%
Jones 2.6%
Und 59.1%

Email sent out by the Maxey Campaign.

2. I'm for Maxey.
I would consider Charlie U-J as a second choice.

Boyd Richie I would not consider. I am kind of mad at the shabby transparent tricks that are being pulled to try and shove Richie down the delegates' collective throats, i.e. the anonymous "informative" email about the "missing $250k" etctera.

Oh, and at our pre-caucus, the gentleman that got up to speak on Boyd Richie's behalf cited as his number one reason to support Boyd Richie...? The fact that Richie had stepped up to fill the gap when Soechting resigned! Bwahahahaha! No word, of course, about the fact that Soechting's resignation had been bandied about on the internet for MONTHS before he actually resigned. :eyes: And then he actually had the nerve to say that the TDP office was "such a mess" and imply bad things about Soechting when he himself was praising him to the skies only months before.

Piffle. Transparent Karl Rovian bushwah. Don't piss on my shoes and tell me it's raining.

3. From and SD and Club perspective
As a club president, I have been very open to all candidates and have not favored one. But at the SD convention the leadership was all ga-ga on Richie instead of being neutral and encouraging competition.

I am shocked at the 60% undecided vote! WOW! They way you hear it at the SD convention you would have thought Richie was IN and Maxey a far second.

So. Maybe the convention will be very very interesting.

6. My thoughts exactly, only......
I might have Urbina-Jones as my first choice and Maxey second.

But it looks like it will probably come down to Richie and Maxey, in which case I have no hesitation to go with Maxey, which is something I told Maxey at our CEC meeting, when he gave me his sticker. I told him I was still waiting to get solid info on Urbina-Jones, but one way or another, if it came down to Maxey needing the votes to beat Richie, I'd be supporting him.

He was VERY gracious. In fact, I didn't get the impression I keep reading about, about him not having "people skills". He's no glad-hander and that ain't all bad. I work with HR and glad-handing and organizational skills often don't come in the same package. In politics, we're pretty full of glad-handers, I opt for organization to get us moving.

4. To me, it has appeared that there was a greater geographical component to
the candidates' cores of support rather than an ideological component. As far as I can tell, Maxey is generally preferred in Austin, Boyd in North Texas, and Charlie in South Texas. But all three candidates look good to me.

5. Dallas for Maxey
I live in SD 8 and I've seen a lot of Maxey supporters and some Richie supporters. I have not heard much about Lakeisha Rogers or Charlie Jones. At the CEC meeting last weekend I saw Glen Maxey give a pretty good speech and Committeeman Ken Moleberg spoke for Richie. It will be a fun election to be sure! I guess I'm leaning toward Maxey, but I want to know more about Jones and Rogers before I make up my mind.

9. Details?
I'm not really familiar with them. When I was in college they'd be on the west mall handing out stuff and they seemd a little bit fringe, but what are they about? Do they have a lot of votes?

10. Strong Maxey leaner here
And I usually stay with my first political instinct. But I'm still slightly open minded at this point.

11. I'm leaning towards Maxey, too
I really enjoyed his presentations at DFA last summer & at the 2004 state convention. He's gotten great results in voter registration drives, & seems to be good at motivating people--especially young people--into getting involved.
