I know I am missing a lot, I am fighting a losing battle with a back problem. Normal medical support would have fixed it, but in four months the VA is still evaluating it. I can't complain too much, i suppose, at least I have medical coverage-I'm very fortunate to be able to say that.

But speaking of fortunate, have a lot of fun & I will be watching via the Texas Democratic Party website!

The Friday caucuses are done, including the SD caucuses, and the convention just opened.

Not much more to report at this moment. Lots of elected officials, lots of good speeches. It is kind of humorous to see Chris Bell's entourage trot through the halls. Two cameras, a law enforcement officer, and half a dozen guys in suits. Bwah! Oh, I got on the tabulations committee which will help tabulate the floor vote tomorrow for chair. Dang, I'm already tired. :)

To your back problem. I will say Fort Worth is a nice town. Lots of things to do within walking distance. A lot of the convention itself was run poorly. Huge long waits for credentials on Friday morning. A lot of the really large caucuses put in rooms that were too small for them. It has been nice seeing all the faces associated with the DU names. Someday someone has to post one of those picture threads in the Texas forum so we can get to know each other.

I wish you luck with your VA issue. Don't you think you ought to get that lame ass Lamar Smith to help you get to the root of that problem. Put a complaint in to that office about your VA treatment.

Wes Clark rocked the house last night. WolverineDG, TexasThoughtCriminal, crispini, Mrs and PDitte, No Pasaran, GOPis Evil, David Van Os (I' hope I didn't leave anyone out) and some future DUers all met at the flying saucer. Photos to follow. Some of us ended up back at the Hilton for Sheila Jackson Lee's party, which was awesome.

I'm sorry we didn't get to spend more time with y'all. I was mostly stuck in the front, at one point playing spotter for Barbara Radnofsky while she spoke from the top of the sofa arm.

Picture me having the next Senator from the Great State of Texas falling into my arms. Even Mrs. Diddie said she would have applauded if it had happened. Schweet...

I hope you had as good a time as I did! I left my voice in Fort Worth though.

Was I the only one at the convention who brought a cowbell for Chris Bell? I even got to ring it for him personally at the Blue Dog Caucus - I think it made him giggle. But it earned me a warm, firm handshake from the future Governor.
