Bob Slagle endorses Hilary
(Hee hee hee)

Via email
Tuesday, March 4 is a red letter day in the Presidential nomination process. We are called upon to take decisive action between two appealing Democratic candidates. No matter how torn each of us may be, this cup will not pass from our lips. What each of us does, or fails to do, may matter greatly.

I was initially for Governor Richardson because of his demonstrated competence as a Congressmen, Energy Secretary, U.N. ambassador and governor, but now he is out.

After deliberate consideration I decided to support Hillary Clinton because of her accomplishments and experience at many levels of our democracy which includes her voter registration and campaign efforts in Texas for George McGovern in 1972. Yes, she and Bill were part of the anti-Vietnam war and progressive young people who flocked to the McGovern campaign.

The Democratic Party benefitted from this infusion of young enthusiasts as many went on to elective office to help shape our nation as did Hillary and Bill.

George W. Bush is a prime example of how inexperience leads to disastrous policies for our country and world.

Hillary's experience has led her to make specific proposals for new policies on Universal Health Care, the economy, the housing crisis, the environment and to end the War in Iraq.

These dramatic changes are necessary if the U.S. is to resume its role as a leader of the free world in foreign policy and lead to a new surge of imagination and economic well being at home.

If you are willing to join me in supporting Hillary's challenge to change America please click here.

Regards,
Bob Slagle

Well, if this don't mean the old-guard's getting on board for Hilly, I don't know what.

1. Slagle is old, Luisa Alvarado is not.
Her letter in support of Hillary was strange and long. I had to jump to the last paragraph to see who she was giving the endorsement of "who cares". (that is mean)

I pegged her for an Obama supporter.

Slagle I pegged long ago. That is no secret or surprise.

2. I wanted to respond
"Why should I be impressed by the work done on the McGovern campaign? I was 9 in 1972. What's she done for me lately?"

but that would be rude. }( Rude, but true. Now it's Obama bringing the young 'uns to the table and like most older Baby Boomers, they're telling those of us born at the tail-end of the boom (Old enough to be considered a boomer; too young to have had any of their fun) to sit down, shut up & "wait our turn." pffft. I've had 45 years of this treatment; I'm not taking it anymore.
