Was Fort Worth State Rep. Candidate Murder Target?

Katherine Blake FORT WORTH (CBS 11 News) ― Fort Worth police are investigating if a local politician was the target in an attempted murder. Someone shot at Kalandra Wheeler's office Thursday night.

Wheeler is the democratic nominee for State Representative District 92.

Investigators know that it was a shotgun blast that busted out a window at Wheeler's office in the 4700 block of Airport Freeway. Bullet holes were still visible Friday afternoon.

Investigators do not know, however, who pulled the trigger.

Just on the other side of the damaged window is where Wheeler sits. "Five of the pieces of buckshot came into the office straight over Kalandra's chair. Two of the pieces hit the wall," said Office Controller Jeff Cox.

1. You know, why is it that I never hear about shots fired at the Repubs office?
Just can't seem to figure that one out...

Bad luck, or big mother con artist? You decide

Remember we told you earlier about Phil Parlock, the Republican man in West Virginia who seems to have REAL bad luck attending presidential political rallies where Democrats seem to constantly attack him, rip his 3 year old daughter's sign, etc? Well, the blogosphere just discovered (and emailed me) yet ANOTHER incident just two weeks ago involving this man. Yes, we now have a fourth incident. This time, shots were "fired" at the guy while watching the president's acceptance speech at a local GOP gathering in W. VA. Uh huh.

5. More from the story
The law firm where Wheeler works has a dozen surveillance cameras surrounding the building. Coincidentally, the camera right outside of her office was vandalized and broken several weeks ago. Officer workers are hoping that one of the building's other 11 cameras contains some clues.

6. Channel 8 carries the story, local conservative newsppaers do not
Curiously, neither the Fort Worth Star-Telegram nor Dallas Morning News ran stories in Saturday's edition.
