I can't help but blame Perry and his adminstration
for any loss of life from Ike among people who chose not to evacuate. I'm watching the Houston television coverage almost nonstop as well as reading live Twitter reports and time and again, when asked why they didn't leave, the people who stayed behind said it was because of the nightmare of Rita. They decided they'd rather ride out the storm than go through that again. I have a hard time blaming them. :shrug:
