I just met Bill Clinton!
I work in a building that is also serving at the Disaster Recovery Center in Galveston, TX. Bill and GHWB just came through to meet with FEMA people here at the center and take a quick tour of the facility. I was fortunate enough to have an office about 20 feet from where he came out, so I (and a handful of others) got to meet him without a crowd around. I should have a picture with him emailed to me later from a FEMA employee. I did get to snap one with my camera phone, but it isn't that great. He shook hands with each of us, and signed a UTMB postcard for me. I thanked him for his support for Rick Noriega. He said "He's a good man. Hillary supports him too."

I would've either been speechless or started crying. What an awesome moment that must have been for you.

4. It was cool. I was nervous talking to him but wanted to be sure
to say more than hello. I practiced my line about Rick before I got to see him! LOL

2. I've met him too - he's very tall isn't he?
I have his Clinton book "My Life" that he signed at Book People in Austin. Very charming man. I love the Big Dog. Sometimes I get mad at him but I come back to liking him quickly. No one is perfect. He has his flaws, but he's a good person.

:applause:

5. He's tall, but he has gotten so thin! Much thinner than he looks on TV.
GHWB looked very frail. Bill looked tired too, but not as much as George.

7. Poppy was there?

At the same event as Bill? Or did you see Poppy somewhere else? Ok I just re-read your original message and see this was a relief review thingy.

Poppy does like Bill - probably more than his incompetent son.

3. So is he all that in person?
Did you feel faint? Did you swoon? Did you get giggly and wobbly? Does The Big Dog indeed have a mesmerizng hypnotic effect on ALL women? Or just some?

(If I know you like I think I know you, you weren't. So I'm just innocently asking if your perceived-by-me opinion of the man is an accurate one.)

6. I was nervous and giddy, but not as much as I was when I met Al Gore...

actually I was MORE giddy for Al :loveya:

Bill definitely gave us each individual attention, looked us in the eye when he shook our hands, and had something to say to each of us. That is how he reels you in.

Coincidentally, I was wearing the outfit that you and I had talked about as having that "naughty schoolgirl" look about it. Appropriate, eh? LOL
