Rove helping Hutchison?

Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison looks like she may be getting some high-profile help as she prepares to run for governor of Texas – from Karl Rove.

Rove was in Austin yesterday, lunching with lobbyist Katharine Armstrong at the state Capitol, according to the Austin American-Statesman. Armstrong is a top Texas fundraiser who has donated to Hutchison’s Senate campaign.

Rove has long been rumored to be informally offering advice to Hutchison in her likely campaign against Gov. Rick Perry. The Bush political team has never been close with Perry, who succeeded Bush as governor.
