1. Ophra did a show on this today too

Behind the Yearning for Zion Gatesfrom the Ophra web site.

I didn't watch the show so I don't know how it was presented. I think the website pictures and presents a fair balance. You get Betty Jessop's story which is different than her Mom tells it. Betty made the choice to go back to FLDS after knowing both the lifestyle in FDLS and outside. She's 19 and has a right to her choice.

No one has to agree with their faith or lifestyles but they have a right to believe and raise their kids like they want.

2. I was surprised; it was a fair portrayal

I recognized a few people & they were the same on the show as they are IRL. :) I laughed when one girl said she wants to become a lawyer. Quite a few of them do, so they can represent parents & kids in CPS cases. :evilgrin:
