Tropical Wave Over Yucatan Peninsula - Invest 93 (cross-post)
I posted this in the Lounge a little while ago, but it belongs here just as much if not a little more, thanks to the majority of the computer-model tracks. Here's the rest of the post:

Looks like the Gulf of Mexico is close to having its first tropical storm, with a 30% chance of development. The computer models are showing most tracks into North Mexico/South Texas, with one going to SE Louisiana and one to Florida. Here are the important sites to watch:

2. I haven't yet seen any posts about it in either LBN or Energy/Environment
but I don't check GD.

So far, other than one other poster, the Lounge is completely ignoring my post. Not sure if that's good or bad ;)

3. It'll pick up once a storm approaches shore
;)

But I agree with your lounge post, it would be nice to get some rain down here.

4. Well, hopefully it doesn't come in the form of a flood!
My father has told me the talk around Central Texas is that they are always on the borderline between drought and flood. Of course, they've been in a drought for over two years now, so a storm like this would like cause flooding at first.

Still, most of the dried-up ponds and lakes would refill and the rest might get down into the aquifers, too.

So, here's to no more than a Tropical Storm strength system making its way into Brownsville and then looping up and around through the middle of Texas! :toast:

5. It's already breaking the heat wave a little
We've had about 10 days of 100+ degree weather in Central Texas. We have a slight chance for thunderstorms on Monday and a high of just 93 for Tuesday. Why it's almost a cold spell. :)

6. Same in East Texas
Forecast for 97 today but 100+, tomorrow 93,??% chance of rain. Good for house painting though. Now we might see if the patio roof leaks, or if it's really fixed.

9. Thank you NoPasaran
I try to do a rain dance too. I'm not sure it's doing any good, but I get an "A" for effort. :)
