Azle homeowner displays 'Hispanics Keep Out' sign
Source: WFAA-TV

AZLE, Texas - A "Hispanics Keep Out" sign displayed on the front of an Azle home has stirred up unease for some residents in the Tarrant County neighborhood.

"It does offend people," said Dahlia Scarbro, a neighbor. "It's offensive, but it is his property."

Many residents said they would like to see the sign, which has been up for months, taken down.

"Well, you know, I don't care," said a 72-year-old woman who answered the door at the home. "I'm upset about them coming over here illegally, too."

The GOP must be thinking this is a good idea.

1. Um, lady ... people of Spanish descent controlled Texas long before your family ever heard of Texas.
Edited on Thu Jul-23-09 11:11 AM by gauguin57
Texas used to be Mexico!

Lady at the door, go back to Europe where you came from!

Thinking about that lady and her sign makes me have bad thoughts about what should happen to her. I'm thinking about getting out my voodoo doll. So I'm not going to think about it any more today, to give my blood pressure a chance to go back to normal.

2. Wish all the world's idiots would
post big signs in front of their homes, letting the rest of us know exactly what brand of idiot lives there. Sometimes, it's better when people just express themselves. You know who you are dealing with this way.

3. Over time, this will slowly chip into GOP support - let them keep eating their own intestines

They'll finally eat enough of the important ones and perish. Bush was trying to make inroads into the Hispanic/Latin voting blocks but the Conservative right wing appears to want to undo anything he tried and take it further down. At their own peril.

19. Yes, I was at a family gathering yesterday....we have been in
what is now the US way before it became the US.....I calculated about 640 decendants in just in 3 generations....and that was quite conservative estimation. Not all of them have Hispanic surnames....illegal? Hey when people ask me where I came from when they hear me speaking Spanish....and I say California...and they look at me oddly....I say, hey you came here we didn't go to you....and to those who want to say what about the Indians....over 90% of us are Mestizo.....

30. Actually, I like that spelling and pronunciation best!
:D I should look for one of those shirts. If I can't find it, I'll make one and use the original boundaries, back when we had parts of Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico within our borders, too :P
(Historical Maps of Texas)

Of course, the dumbasses would have trouble pronouncing it. We'd probably hear too many of them calling us "Tee-jass".
