I know that East Texas is very large. I'm in the middle of East Shitholia.

I'm in Houston County.

:hi: Way to go and stand up. Find your fellow East Texas DUers. I know there are some. You'll feel a hell of a lot more connected when you can put people's faces to some DU names.

We need to get this thread to the greatest page - in case some of them don't even know about the underground of DU Underground. We're deep, deep in the bowels of the board here.

Is in Cherokee County (I think) and that's pretty far up there. I'm in Houston and there's easily a dozen of us -- Lisa0825, WestHoustonDem, etc. I also travel to Beaumont about monthly for a day or two on business and to check in on my 83-year-old mom.

Deep East Texas is very conservative. My Congress-Cretin is Joe Barton...yuck.

Houston County went 2 to 1 for McCain. I think all the black people and about 100 white folks voted for Obama, I would guess.


Then we got Louie Gohmert in Tyler.

I'm between Crockett and Palestine. Basically I have to drive 80 miles to do anything other than shop at Wallyworld.


Trivia: Ken Starr's Mother is buried right up the road in Elkhart, TX. There's a STARR CEMETERY right off the main drag. :D

It's 140 miles up here.
