San Antonio Express-News 9/23/10Without Perry, Edgewood forum turns into Dem rally(snip)
The school district invited both the governor and White, his Democratic challenger, to a Wednesday education forum at the Edgewood Theatre for Performing Arts, but only White agreed to appear.
The forum came in the heat of a debate stalemate between the two candidates, with White accepting an invitation from the state's five largest newspapers to debate in Austin on October 19, and Perry refusing until White releases his tax returns from his mid-'90s stint as U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy.
Perry spokesman Mark Miner said the governor could not attend the forum because of “scheduling issues,” and cited White's “lack of transparency” as the reason the two candidates are unlikely to debate.
With Perry absent, the event — attended by about 500 Edgewood, Somerset and San Antonio Independent School District high-school seniors — took on a blatantly partisan tone that could best be described as one part civics lesson, two parts Democratic campaign rally.
 Ha Ha. That's what you get rubber chicken Perry, when you don't have the spine to show up.
Without Perry, Texas would turn "sane".
Here's hoping that those seniors turn out to vote in huge numbers. :kick:
