TX-32--the letter the DMN will probably never publish
I don't know about y'all, but I'm sick and tired of the Dallas Morning News ragging on Craig Watkins about his $3,000 tuxedo. Yeah, $3,000 is a lot for a tuxedo, but have you seen Craig Watkins? He's tall--like really, really tall. Nice material times 6 foot 5 or whatever is a lot. And he paid a tailor and spent the money right here in Dallas. So I'm pissed. Here's a letter I just fired off to the Dallas Morning News, and I'll bet they don't print it:
I wish more politicians would spend campaign money in Dallas, as does District Attorney Craig Watkins. That $3,000 he spent for a tuxedo, for instance, was money spent right here in Dallas, employing a local tailor. Any politician who boosts the local economy gets my vote.

My congressman, Pete Sessions, on the other hand, spends thousands of dollars every year hosting lavish fundraisers at strip clubs in Las Vegas. Why Las Vegas? Aren't the local strippers at The Lodge good enough for him?

So place your bets, everybody--will they or won't they print it?

1. Pete Sessions should spend his "stripper money allocation" at home
I love the part where to say Pete should spend his stripper money at home!:rofl::rofl:

I'm betting they won't print it.

Isn't there an alternative newspaper in Dallas? Send the letter there too.

:applause: :yourock:

2. Thanks, sonias, glad you like it!
We have the Dallas Observer, but they only have a letters section online. If the DMN doesn't want it, I'll post the idea on the local blogs around here.

4. Yep, I've noticed that they're really raking Watkins over the coals...
don't know why they dislike the man because I've only heard him doing good things, especially for some innocent people on death row. They also had some story about him persuading a young girl to drop some kind of charges a few years ago, but there's a LOT of questions that need to be answered regarding this subject. The best thing to do to get your letter published is to post it in the comments section.
