TX-30: DMN endorses right-wing preacher over Eddie Bernice Johnson

I'm just so pissed off I can't see straight. Dallas Morning News--after promoting this guy's campaign day after day--DMN actually endorsed a right-wing preacher for TX-30 over Eddie Bernice Johnson.

Here's my snarky comment to the editorial board's blog:

Some day, you'll have to tell us exactly what exactly Stephen Broden did to earn Dallas Morning News' daily promotion of his campaign, followed by the endorsement of the editorial board.

It couldn't have been Sarah Palin's endorsement--a Facebook posting from a half-term governor just doesn't cut it. He must have done something special for Belo Corporation, something really, really big.

My guess: he bought up a warehouse full of old CueCats.

Anybody remember CueCat? Apparently, they lost their shirts on that deal. Back in 2000, when they started cutting staff, I wrote a letter to the editor asking, "Exactly how much money did you lose on that deal?" And, of course, they didn't publish it.

Whatever sells. I worked on a lawsuit with them years ago, and that was one more nail in the coffin of cynicism that is my view of today's "journalism."

3. In my opinion, I thought the DMN had gotten better with their bias...

but clearly they haven't changed enough based on this endorsement. I'm a constituent in EBJ's district, and although I'm VERY UNHAPPY with what she's done, there's no way in hell that I'd vote for a teabagger (which is what Broden is). He also states that the right-wing Phyllis Schlafly helped him in his decision to become a Republican. Like every other teabagger, the guy is whacko. So, until a more credible Democrat can unseat Johnson, I'm sad to say that this is one time when I'll hold my nose and vote for her.
