I've noticed something very interesting in my Collin County neighborhood.
We've lived here >11 years, long enough to get a pretty good sense of who puts out yard signs during an election and for which party. Those of you who know Collin County won't be surprised when I say this neighborhood probably votes 2:1 for republicans.

I do a 2-3 mile run 4-5 days per week, and I've noticed something very interesting this election season. I've seen the usual number of Democratic-leaning neighbors displaying Bill White signs. In contrast, I haven't seen a single yard displaying a sign for Rick Perry.

I don't want to be overly optimistic because I've been disappointed too many times in the last 11 years, but the absence of Perry signs is striking.

1. That's good to hear!
My community is 90% repub. and I haven't seen a single sign for Perry. On the local message board, there is not much enthusiasm for him either. Some are not going to vote for him and a few will "hold their noses" and vote for him. It is really quite striking this election cycle.

2. Good news. I haven't seen any yard signs for either party...
but I have seen bumper stickers (2) for Bill White. I think the message is getting out that Perry is pond scum.

5. Just a sign of the times.
Nobody is proud or happy with Perry crony's.
Hopefully when Perry and his cronies are gone they will be looked upon like the bush dyno. Nuclear

6. I dunno. I signed up for Collin County Republican Party email updates
and was very surprised at how infrequently I hear from them. I think they don't try very hard in Collin County because they don't have to. I recall seeing more Kerry signs in 2004 as I walked in my neighborhood, but the county still went for GWB 70% or more.

9. I'm in Dallas County. I haven't seen even one Perry sign, but a lot of White signs. BUT...
the Republicans don't always put out signs. They're older, they're wealthier...they're not as much into signs. Or, it could mean they're not enthusiastic.

I don't know how to take it. Could be just my area, though. I think my precinct tends to vote Democratic, but not always.

10. I am in Tarrant Co and I have yet to see a yard sign or bumper
sticker for goodhair.

HOWEVER I am seeing Bill White yard signs in yards that never had any signs before, all around the place.

11. No Perry signs in McLennan either
The big race here is Chet Edwards vs. Bill Flores.

There are some Bill White signs.

I just figured they didn't need to bother.

14. Seeing more White signs in Kyle TX
Driving from Kyle in Southeast Hays county to Austin where I work, seeing many more White signs. Even in the rich sections of Onion Creek which is surprising. I think Perry's going to act "surprised" election eve, even though the writing's on the wall, his time is over in this state.

16. Last weekend I took a motorcycle ride
from Houston up to the Lindale/Tyler area. Went through Madisonville, Buffalo, and Palestine and was pleasantly surprised to see lots of Bill White signs.

17. Not a single Democratic candidate sign here in my neck of the woods
I'm in east Dallas county and it seems like this place is 99% right winger (with me being the 1%).

I'm soooo lonely...

18. Friend of mine lives in a ritzy subdivision in Cedar Park.
Two years ago there were McCain signs galore on his street. Now there's about half a dozen White signs and not a single Perry.
