Day of Debauchery & Gluttony - a protest against Rick Perry's Day of Prayer
Apparently Goodhair has declared August 6th a day of prayer. Normally, I don't have a problem with prayer. George Washington called for days of fasting and thanksgiving when he was president. But his purpose was to build community and promote public virtue. Ricky just wants a photo op to sell his ridiculous presidential run.

I expect more public venues to evolve as we go along. But for now the plan is to just get sloppy and stuff your face in public that day. I wonder where I can get some good roasted turkey legs, so I can go all Henry the 8th that day.

<== yes, I'll be dressed like this

(Wait, they didn't have turkeys in England in the 1400s -- damn you, Renaisance Festival! This is yet another anachronism!)

Ground rules posted for Rick Perrys "The Response"

Texas Governor Rick Perry has issued an invitation to all Christians to join him on Aug 6 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas. Perry will lead those in attendance in a day of fasting and prayer.

Due to the large crowds expected at the event called "The Response" the following ground rules have been posted and will be followed:
1) Parking will be available at $15 per car. Cash only.
2) To gaze into the heavens, the roof will be open. Please bring sunscreen.
3) Concession stands will not be open. (Remember we are fasting)
4) Be ready to show proof of citizenship at the door.
5) No Jews, Muslims, or any other non-Christians will be allowed.
(snip)
8) No snakes, chickens, doves, or any live animals, will be allowed. This is a Christian event, not a goddamn freak show.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Great list John!!! :applause::applause::applause:

Group sues to prevent Perry participation in prayer event

The Freedom from Religion Foundation on Wednesday asked a Houston federal court to block Gov. Rick Perry from participating in the Response, a day of Christian prayer and fasting at Reliant Stadium.

The lawsuit, filed on behalf of five Houston-area atheists, argues that Perry's participation in the Aug. 6 event amounts to government endorsement of religion, a violation of the First Amendment.

Prayer and fasting, the Wisconsin-based organization said in the lawsuit, "are not only an ineffectual use of time and government resources, but which can be harmful or counterproductive as a substitute for reasoned action."

The Freedom from Religion Foundation is an organization of atheists and agnostics.

8.  I'll be more comfortable in much less clothes
It's hot, don't ya know. I'm thinking more of an Ancient Roman (circa: AD 15ish) look would suit our climate better. That's right ladies and gentleman, I'm talking togas here.

Remember, appropriate dress and proper hydration is the key to a happy day of debauchery & gluttony during the Texas summer. ;)
