Favor to ask of any Austin residents we might have here.
My sister died today in Austin. I don't know how she died and am wanting to know if they mentioned (or will mention it) on the news or in the paper. She was found this morning in a motel room, is 51 and her name is Lida Hubach. Any info you may come across would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

1. Have you tried contacting the Coroner in Austin

Authorities are more likely to have reliable information, though there may be some issues with certifying your relationship over the phone.

2. We are getting info from a family member.........
but I am wanting to make sure what we hear is the truth. I will be going up there in the next day or two anyways just wondering if they said something about it on the news tonight or if it makes the paper in the morning.

3. Local Paper appears to be

http://www.austinchronicle.com

and if you do a google search on 'austin television' you will get a reference to a yahoo page with links to the local TV stations.

Unless there's some suspected foul play, I wouldnt necessarily expect a new report. I think the ifficials are your best bet for unbiased info, especially if you show your relationship.

4. I am so sorry!
I know it must be very difficult to have lost a sister, but to not have any details must be horrible. I will certainly keep a look out and pm you should I see anything. Please keep us posted and good thought, prayers and karma are there for you.

I'm so very sorry to hear about your sister.

The Chronicle is the alternative newspaper here; not sure if they have any kind of daily news items. You should check out http://www.statesman.com/. The local daily is The Austin American-Statesman. Since it sucks, I don't subscribe and never read it, so I don't know if anything appeared today.

You can easily subscribe online for free. I did a quick search on your sister's name on their website and didn't get any hits.

You should call the Travis County Coroner's office ASAP. They will know.

Since it happened today, it may not show up until tomorrow, especially if your family hasn't been contacted in any official capacity.

Again, I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry your visit to Austin is for such unhappy reasons.

Let us know how you are doing.

9. I am sorry to hear it.
That is way too young. I have not looked at the paper yet. If I see anything I will post a repsonse.

10. Thanks but........
Looks like the only thing will be what we put in. Still don't know what she died from but I am guessing at this point that drugs were involved. It is such a terrible loss for everyone but I am just heartbroke for her sons.
