Who is Richard Morrison?
Well, first Richard Morrison is the guy who will kick Tom DeLay's ass in November!

I'm a volunteer with his campaign, VP of Bay Area New Democrats in Clear Lake, next to NASA in Houston. Our club is at ground zero when it comes to defeating DeLay. And we have two very good reasons why Richard can win:

1) Many people cannot stand tom delay. He has insulted teachers, http://www.democrats.us/editorial/cobarruvias041104.shtml and has insulted NASA employees http://www.democrats.us/editorial/cobarruvias022304.shtml. He has become the target of Democrats across the state for his involvement in redistricting. He isn't liked by many.

And

2) We have a winner of a candidate, Richard Morrison! He is working hard meeting as many people as he can, and working the phones for donations. I walked a complete parade route with him. He shook as many hands as he could even getting behind in the parade. He enjoyed it. He looked like Congressional material.

Hey folks, this guy is for real. His campaign is buzzing. The money is coming, and the volunteers are engergized!

2. Find out for yourself!
Richard Morrison will be on Air America tonight with Janeane Garofalo.

Last night, Janeane said, "We'll have Richard Morrison tomorrow night so bring your checkbooks!" Amen.

We're having a listening party at our house. We just got Syrius AND we'll be taping it digitally so we can put it on the website. We've invited people and will provide coffee and cake.

Hi, John!

5. What do you know about the controversy
surrounding the article in The Hill?

"Today's story in The Hill attempts to create a controversy by implying that I do not welcome the support of Howard Dean and other strong Democrats. This is not the case.

I was proud to introduce Howard Dean to over 2,000 Houstonians in October, and will be proud to welcome him back any time.

In the future, I believe people will look back on Governor Dean and thank him for reviving the Democratic Party."

This *ahem* controversial DU thread examines the issue >>

Did The Hill's writer fabricate quotes from a "spokesman" for Morrison? I can't imagine Democrats saying these things about anyone OTHER THAN Howard Dean. Is this why folks say Ds "eat their own"? Can we stop doing that?? Please?

6. I checked it out ------
I am posting this at the request of a Morrison staff member.

The quote from The Hill was not the view of Richard Morrison. An aide misspoke and he has been severely disciplined.

Richard Morrison welcomes the support of all Democrats. One of his top aides was a leading Dean supporter and another was a leading Clark supporter. He is reaching out to all elements of the Democratic Party as well as all people of the 22nd district.

Richard Morrison welcomes support from all people who work hard and play by the rules. Howard Dean certainly fits in that category.

7. Thank you!!
We certainly don't need divisiveness in the Party right now. And DeLay needs his butt kicked all the way back to suburbia!

I was a "presidential candidate" Dean supporter. I'm not involved in his new oragnization at this time because of my concerns about situations just such as this. I believe he is a HUGE asset to the Party. It pains me when I see Ds who don't agree. I respect their right to disagree with Dean. But continuing to make him a public whipping boy do not serve the united front or get us any closer to the goal line.

Again, thanks so much for your response.

10. I view the medicare vote . the longest in history
to be one big thorn in DeLay's side. Not to mention slicing up Texas districts like so much broken glass. We could have a state wide PARTY DOWN after his defeat :bounce:
