Push poll?

I live in Burlington, and I've just gotten called by a "pollster" who obviously had an agenda. The first question was "Do you favor giving welfare benefits to illegal aliens?", and, except for a question about property taxes and guns, every other question fixated on Democratic candidates -- esp. Senator Leahy. Were it not a female voice on the other end of the line, I'd have thought it was our illustrious Vice President exploring yet another way to communicate "go F yourself" ;)

When I didn't answer in the way that the "pollster" wanted me to, the "pollster" sounded audibly shocked, and seemed to try to elicit a change of response from me.

My caller ID said the call originated from "CTC", at 815-748-4038

I live in Tampa Florida, and I was just polled by CTC

They simply asked if the election were held today, who would I vote for: George Bush, John Kerry, or Ralph Nadar

I said Kerry, and they said thank you and hung up.

I searched online with their number from my caller ID, and found your post. I wonder who they are working for... or if I'm going to get targeted for push polling now or something. Not that it matters... I've already voted in early voting. Still, it's something to watch.

I checked out the company website, and the CEO is a big Republican contributor. Assume it was push polling and watch out for CTC

It didn't seem to be very professional. I tried to find out who was financing the poll, I don't think the staffers had a clue. Some of the questions were quite strange. Should law abiding citizens carry "concealed weapons" to defend thmeselves?
