Report from polling place in Virginia
I just got back from helping set up the polling place where I vote. It's the usual thing; people from both parties show up, set up literature tables and put signs up around the school.

The good news is the Repug coordinator didn't have any volunteers and left shortly after setting up his signs. He said he would be back when it got busy, but he hadn't even set up his table and chairs.

The Democratic coordinator, on the other hand, said he had a dozen volunteers scheduled over the course of the day. He said he had never had so many people volunteer.

I'm feeling good!

1. Good! So as long as there is an HONEST vote count ...
Us Virginia Democrats will have something to smile about. Oh I hope so! I have some other volunteer work with my therapy dog today so I couldn't work the polls with our local democrats. However, I'll be sure to stop by our (Democrats, of course) table and thank all the folks who are there today.

I want to believe that we can politically rid ourselves of Kilgore, hopefully once and for all! :-)

11. What time did you finish up?
The bad thing about working the polls is that you are last to know what the rest of the state (or country) is voting. The good thing is that you know what your precinct voted before anyone else.

Which county are you in and how did it go for you?

In Fairfax, we had heavier than expected turn out -- we ran out of "I voted" stickers. We had some wireless problems tallying our machines and we got out around 9:30.

3. Just got back from voting
Jewish Comm. Ctr., Richmond - looks like the Kaine vols. were a little late getting their signs up - Kilgore was plastered all over the place, but by the time I left there the Kaine signs were going up on the driveway.

8. My sister lives on Monument, but I doubt she has a DU sticker
Repub. husband would probably not allow that. However, she was able to convince him that Kilgore was scary and he said he was going to vote for Kaine. She is voting for Kaine this afternoon...

Hope the vote is honest...
