Question about a lake area
Hi all,

I've vacationed at Smith Mountain Lake and on Lake Gaston. We're looking to relocate back to Virginia, and I have a question about Kerr Lake, which I know is connected to Gaston. Has anyone been there, and is the water sorta murky/rust colored? My faint recollection is that the water in Lake Gaston was murky, as opposed to the clear water at SML. Is Kerr Lake different?

Thanks in advance!

1. Kerr is clearer than Gaston, less crowded than SML
Hey,

I had a place on Gaston for four years but would have preferred Kerr Lake for water quality. Not only is it clearer, the bottom is much more pleasant, more rock and sand and less clay.

Happy hunting,

CYD

2. Thanks so much for answering.
Kerr may be out of the question now because I found out the local high school doesn't have girls soccer. Go figure. That wouldn't go over too well in this house ;)

4. Soon. I canNOT wait to be back!
We took a swing through the state in April, looking at colleges for daughter number 2, and she said, "It would be okay with me if we never went back to New York."

Daughter number 1 is at UVA. Loves it.

Thanks for the welcome.

5. Don't know much about Kerr/Gaston
But I found a nice little shack at SML for you. Just promise that you'll invite me down for a weekend or two after you buy it.

6. That's a bit too small for what we were looking for, and what
would I do with the extra half-million dollars I wanted to spend?

;)
