3. According to Mason-Dixon

a very relaible polling firm (so I hear)

Webb 43%
Allen 43%

via NLS

Even with the Kaine and Warner wins and pickups at the state level, VA is still a reddish-purple state. My gut tells me Allen still has a small lead but Webb can win if he finishes strong. I'd call it "Lean Repubican"

5. Poll schmoll......... Webb's the Best Candidate for the Job......
Edited on Wed Oct-04-06 12:03 AM by LetsThink
... pure and simple. Webb is the ONLY realistic candidate for the contested Virginia Senate seat. He's the ONLY one who understands the military, who has experience fighting a war similar to the war in Iraq. He's the only candidate with a clear view of what needs to be done to move America forward during these challenging times.

Moreover, in these times of moral wobbling by those who occupy positions of public trust and power, Jim Webb has provided evidence - from documented past actions-- that he is above the moral fray. Name one other candidate or sitting legislator who can say they resigned a powerful post on a question of conscience? We NEED more politicians like Jim Webb.........we desperately need to have each and every one of them in office !
