Hampton Roads Area News 10/5/06
from email:

Dear Webb Volunteers:

First, I would like to say thank you for the many things that you have done already for Jim Webb and his bid for the U.S. Senate. However, we have alot of work to do in the next thirty three days.

Second, we need you to either come to the office to make calls for votes or you can do the Phone From Home program that can be accessed through the Webb for Senate.Com website. Either way we have to make 100,000 phone calls to voters between now and election day. Every vote counts and the personal touch is the best way to ask a person to vote for Jim Webb. We have a good time in our
office so come join us and make calls.

Third, you are needed on October 22nd which is the date for our house parties across Virginia for Jim Webb. You can do a house party from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. with people bringing food for dinner, or you can have just dessert and coffee, or just open your home for friends to come in and hear Jim Webb when he calls in on the conference call. It is always a great time to show the 7 minute video entitled, "Leadership We Can Trust." It will definitely bring in more Jim Webb voters after they see it. Please let me know if you want to hold a house party and we will put it on the website and on our volunteer e:mail.

Fourth, we need people to work on election day in a variety of ways: canvass your neighborhood, call voters to get out the vote, drive a person to the polls, be a checker inside of the poll or bring food or materials to polls. For those early risers we need people to put Jim Webb signs out at the polling places.

In the meantime, we have alot of events going on that you can get involved. We need people to volunteer to go to Suffolk for the Peanut Parade on October 7th and march in the parade with our veterans group as well as assist us during the Peanut Fest at the Webb for Senate table. The event is all day Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Also, we need four or more people to work the crowd at the Community Coalition Outting on October 14th at the Resort Hotel & Conference Center, Shore Drive and Great Neck Road from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. We cannot have a table but I have been told that we can walk around with literature and ask people if they would like material.

October 7th Webb/O'Donnell - James City County - Canvasing start at 9:00 a.m. and they are meeting to start canvasing at the Coffee Beanery Cafe, 1301 Jamestown Road. From 199 Take Jamestown Road towards the James River Ferry. Beanery is in strip shopping center on the right not far from 199.

October 7th Webb/Kellam Canvassing - meet at the Oceannair Elementary School, 600 Dudley Avenue, Norfolk at 2:15 and the canvass is from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

If you want to work inside it will cost $35.00 per person to enter and the menu is seafood. The event is from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. We always
have a great time.

1. Hey I was passing through there just yesterday
I stopped in to see some old friends on the Peninsula. We had the local news on and my god there was nothing but political ads. Not one car commercial or paper towel ad.

WOW

Is Drake in as much trouble as it seems?
