Arlington: Dog owners need some help defending a dog park
Arlington County's Parks and Recreation Commission held a meeting this week to discuss the proposed design of the park. At this meeting, the Parks and Recreation Commission decided to recommend
REDUCING the size of the dog park area to 40% of the total redesigned park space.

The Clarendon Sector Plan calls for approximately 50% of the space be used for the dog park. At the county's unveiling of the Preliminary Master Plan for park design on September 25, 2007, it was agreed that 50% of the park be retained for dog park use.

Clarendon Dogs was not informed about this meeting until after it had taken place. Representatives of the Hartford Condo building and the Lyon Village neighborhood attended this meeting and submitted
comments. Based upon comments received, the Parks and Recreation Commission decided upon the action to submit the 40% recommendation.

Follow the link below to sign the petition to let the folks at the Parks and Recreation Commission know that the park NEEDS to be 50% of the current park, not less! And that we want to be included in
all discussions and decisions about the park.
