Citizens to Elect Mark B. Polin
As you may or may not know, I've recently declared my candidacy for the position of Whatcom County Charter Review Commission in District 1. This is my first endeavor into elective politics.

Please feel free to visit my website at: www.voteforpolin.org for further info about me and this race.

Since moving to Bellingham, I have been an outspoken community and peace activist, speaking out on a variety of social issues. In May of 2000, I worked with the Seattle-based organization Washington Cease Fire in coordinating the hugely successful Bellingham Million Mom March which brought the gun safety issue to national debate. Since then, I have also been a leader in several political issues as well as a strong advocate for the pro-peace movement.

Almost two years ago, in conjunction with the Washington state ACLU, I began leading the Northwest Freedom Alliance in eventually getting the Bellingham City Council to pass a resolution which condemned the USA PATRIOT Act. For this, I accepted the Civil Libertarian Award on behalf of the group from the Washington state ACLU. Since returning from Washington, DC in October 2003 after attending the national conference on protecting the Bill of Rights, I again successfully led the effort in ensuring that the Whatcom County council passed a similar measure against the USA PATRIOT Act, resulting in a nomination for the Whatcom County Bar Association’s Liberty Bell Award. I recently worked for the Kucinich presidential campaign, traveling with Dennis as a part-time personal aide, and was elected by my peers as a Kucinich delegate to the 2004 Washington state Democratic convention. I continue to be a leading advocate for many progressive democratic issues, both on a national and local level.

I need your help! Our campaign needs your support.

My campaign needs money for expenditures such as mail-outs, postage, yard signs, administrative costs and much more. I am only accepting contributions from individuals, not any PAC's, corporations, associations, or any other special interest group. I have filed for mini-reporting which means that I will be raising less than $3,500 total and cannot receive more than $300 from any individual.

Please help support the progressive movement at the truly grassroots level. Please consider making a donation of up to $300 towards my campaign. Checks can be written to:

Citizens to Elect Mark B. Polin and can be mailed to:
Citizens to Elect Mark B. Polin
2125 Michigan St.
