He's baaaaaackkkk!!
The pathetic Dino Rossi announced today he's running for Governor or Washington. Again. Against Gregoire. Again.

I hope he loses in the primary, the big whiner. :)

1. Are we still using touch-screen machines?
I thought they were using them in Skagit and Whatcom county last election.

2. nope at least not here in Snohomish Co.
I'm betting it won't be close this time. If they can't rig the polls and Christine being more popular, Deano is a no go.
But the Republicans will nominate him because they got a faith based system.

3. Welcome to DU, Buzz cook!
I have always thought that one of the main problems with the vote count last time was the Sequoia machines in Skagit and Whatcom.

I'm hoping that the dismal job that's been done by * and company will swing even the hard-core GOP Eastern Washington voters away from the dark side!

4. Gregoire has done nothing to endear me to her
but since i'd rather gouge out my eyes than vote GOP, she's got my vote for a 2nd term.

and i fully expect her to help WSDOT shove a viaduct rebuild down seattle's throat.

what wonderful choices the political process offers the citizenry.

5. Hey maxsolomon

I actually have an account under the name Buzzcook that started in about 2000. Bill Gates decided I wasn't using my hotmail account enough so it got pulled and along with it my password. I don't post here very frequently so its not the biggest deal.

Gregoire is ok in my book for one reason, the way she and her team handled the vote recounts. I think whoever was in charge learned all the right lessons from Florida in 2000 and from the Wellstone/Mondale campaign in 2002.
For the rest of it ya she isn't quite as activist as I'd like. But then again I think there's a law that prevents here from stringing Tim Eyman up by his thumbs.

Edited for speeling

7. I'm kinda against the tunnel
Mostly because i see it as a chance for Nichols, or which ever pol is in charge at the time, to sell off public property at fire sale prices. Perhaps if there was some iron clad guarantee that the space above any tunnel, where the viaduct now stands, would be devoted to public space. Oh and lots of parking garages.
I see that happening in the same way that the politicians honored the publics wishes for monorail expansion.
Not that I'm wedded to keeping the viaduct either through repair or replacement. I have read some things about a suspension bridge that seemed to be ok.
Part of the problem is that you only read about in the Times or PI and I don't think they cover the subject as well as they should.
