I just read the online voter's pamphlet re: initiatives
and I'm angry. I caught both sides using non-cited assertions and on one of them, the against side actually lied and the for side didn't call them on it. Is it so awful to want better behavior from those who are tapped to discuss these initiatives? I'll admit that the easily refuted lie on one of the initiative discussions pushed me to vote yes on that initiative (though I did more thorough research and decided that it was a yes vote anyway).

I'm just steamed! That isn't acceptable!

2. The specific lie was on the rebuttal initiative 1029
The ones against stated that it would burden those taking care of their family members at home as they would have to take 75 hours of training and become certified. Neither is true, one only has to read the initiative to see that there is an exception for families taking care of their adult disabled children or elderly parents. And on initiative 1000, both sides were making assertions that there had been, either, no abuses of the death with dignity in Oregon or there had been many. Neither cited any footnotes. Sloppy work and somewhat deceitful. If you have information, footnote it so I can research it or don't throw it around.

3. Disappointing
You'd think that with all those internets tubes around, they could devote a line or two to URLs.
