Recount help needed, ASAP!!
Dawn Morrell needs your help! Every evening (this week and next week) at 5pm we send groups out doorbelling voters whose ballots were challenged by the county auditor. We will also be doorbelling this weekend starting at 10am and 1pm on Saturday and at 1pm on Sunday. For all doorbelling through this Sunday we will be launching from the Morrell Campaign office at Lee
LaBrash Real Estate--436 2nd St NE, Puyallup, 98372.

Please contact me by email or phone if you are available one (or more) of
these days. Thank you!

Hello Friends,

I know many of you are exhausted after a long election season but I am writing to ask for your help once again as we continue to fight for Dawn Morrell in the 25th District. As I am sure many of you have seen Dawn took a dip in her numbers last night in one of the final vote tallies by Pierce County Elections. She is now 28 votes behind Hans Zeiger with just few hundred votes left to vote Countywide. Although it is heartbreaking to see her numbers dip below the 50% mark the good news is that we can still make sure she wins by outworking the Republicans.

As of right now in the 25th district there are 287 voters who's ballots have been "Challenged" for not signing their ballot or for having a mismatched signature. We can make these votes count by getting individuals to sign an affidavit from the county that says they did in fact vote. To do this we are calling and visiting voters at their homes to get them to sign an affidavit.

As of right now based on Party ID work there are 70 voters with Democratic leanings, 58 voters with Republican leanings, and 162 voters that we need to ID to find out who they supported. WE CAN MAKE UP 28 VOTES BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

The main thing we need is people to commit to drive-belling. It involves taking a packet of 10 to 15 houses and heading out in teams to two to visit people at their homes. It is a little challenging because it takes place in the evenings for the most part (so we can find people at home) and it is getting dark early these days. If you are coming to canvass in the evening PLEASE BRING A GOOD FLASHLIGHT WITH YOU. Generally driving a packet takes 2-3 hours to complete.

We are recruiting people heavily for the following shifts:

Friday 5-8pm (tomorrow) for canvassing and doorbelling

Saturday and Sunday 10am shift, 1pm shift and 4pm shift

Next week Monday – Friday 5-8pm

Shifts depart from the Morrell office located at 436 2nd St NE, Puyallup, 98372.

If you would like to help by signing up for a shift please contact Campaign Manager Lona Watts directly at lona.b.watts {at} gmail.com or by phone at 253-278-0249. If you have another time that works with your schedule that is not listed in the shifts above I am sure we can put you to work. Please contact the campaign directly and we will figure out something that will work

Please set aside some time and help us save Dawn. We need everyone we can get and please pass this along to friends who will help.

We know you are exhausted after a long election season (I know we are!), but we are writing to ask for your help as we continue to fight for pro-choice candidates. There are several tight races where pro-choice candidates are very close to or within recount range. We need your help to protect the pro-choice vote and make sure every ballot is counted.

In the race for Washington State Supreme Court, Planned Parenthood Votes! Washington endorsed candidate Charlie Wiggins has pulled slightly ahead of anti-choice incumbent Supreme Court Justice Richard Sanders. In his first day on the job in 1996, moments after being sworn in as a Justice, Sanders spoke at an anti-choice rally on the steps of the Olympia Capitol.

Two counties where Sanders has been leading still have a significant number of ballots to count, and if voting patterns shift or we get close to recount range, Wiggins will need every pro-choice vote! There are opportunities to help elect Charlie Wiggins happening throughout the state.

Another nail biter is the race in the 25th Legislative District in Pierce County. Pro-choice State Representative Dawn Morrell is 28 votes behind anti-choice zealot Hans Zeiger and in recount range.

Dawn Morrell is a nurse who has been there for the women and families in her district. Zeiger is so extreme that he thinks abortion should be illegal in all cases, even when a woman’s life is in danger, and he once wrote an article that called the Girl Scouts of America “Pro-Abortion Feminist Scouts”.

State Representative Kelli Linville in the 42nd in Whatcom County is closing in on her opponent, anti-choice Vincent Buys. Kelli has been a champion for women’s health and even received our Shining Star Award earlier this year for fighting to protect funding for family planning.

Thanks for all your efforts this election season to make sure candidates who will protect women’s health and rights were elected. There are a few more important victories that are still within our grasp; with your help, we can get there.

Dana Laurent, and our entire Planned Parenthood Votes! Washington team
